Apache Angel

Twilight Son x Snow Powder

2021 | Gelding

Apache Angel is one of the 2021 yearlings bought by Castle View Racing last October from Tatts and has had few runs for us so far. He is now having a break and will run over a longer distance in the spring.

From eleven runs, his half brother, Wild Lion is already rated 95 with four wins and three places.

Ask My Heather was broken in by Gary Rutherford and placed in a bumper. He has started his career over hurdles and has recently had a wind operation. He will be back in training after a break.

His name is Ask Heather in memory of owner Ron’s late wife.

Atomic Angel

Geordieland x Sovereignoftheseas

Atomic Angel was broken in and trained at Girsonfield after Shaun Humphries bought her for £1200 as a yearling. She has won four times, placed eight times and is rarely out of the prize money! She has won at Hexham, Sedgefield, and Catterick (by 14 lengths). Recently, she was pipped at the post by 3/4 length at Hexham.

Konig Turf x Eau Tenebreuse

He has had one run in a Point to Point in December 2021 and came to us from Ireland in February 2022.

His grandam Neriette won over 136K in France over Hurdles and fences. He is a very promising young horse who has now had three runs for us – 6th in his bumper as well as 4th and 2nd by a neck in his first two starts over hurdles. 

Looking for partners in this very special horse together with Johnny Dogs.

‘Rolo’ was broken last year and just joined our yard recently. He is being brought on slowly and we will see how he goes. From the family of Aye Right. He replaces Wor Verge who recently retired after winning six races for the syndicate.

Discovered for us by our friend Rose in Ireland, this mare was broken for us by Gary Rutherford.

Blame Rose was 4th twice in her first Bumpers in Spring 2022 and was most recently placed 3rd in a photo finish and 4th.

A winner in July over hurdles – we bought Champ Royal at the September Goffs sale for the Northern Racing Club. He has two winds out of four runs and looks to be a superstar for the syndicate.

Clear Angel

Dark Angel x Calypso Beat

2018 | Gelding

Bought originally for 120K as a yearling Clear Angel had various problems before we bought him for 1500 at the online Tatts sale in Feb 2021. Straight to Phil Cramp at Hambleton Vets to get his bone chip removed and then three months recoup.

He has now rewarded our patience by winning his first race for us over 6f and followed that up by winning over a mile and achieving four places.  He has recently won two more races including the Consolation Race for Carlisle Bell.

Bought by Castleview Racing at the October Yearling sales. He progressed to run in one race at Carlisle before being given time off to mature and will be racing again in the spring.

En Meme Temps

Saddle Maker x Lady Reine

We are delighted to say that En Meme Temps had his first win for us in March 2023. Sam Coltherd gave him an excellent ride and was nominated for the At The Races March Ride of the Month. This season he has had a second so far and will be racing again soon.

Bred by his owners Les & Viv Waugh we hope he will carry on the tradition of his uncle Gowanbuster who won five races for us. Eddie is now having a break before beginning his career as a three-year old.

Harriet is out of the black type mare Virginia Hall who has already bred four winners from four runners including the black type Spygate and Marie of Lyon.

we are now breaking ‘Harriet’ in and getting her ready to race.

Infinite Honour

Infinite honour has had three runs and was 4th in his last race at Musselburgh. He now has his first rating of 57 (Flat). He is now on a break to mature and will return to the racecourse in the spring.

‘Max’ whom we have named Ivan’s Legacy, a 2021 gelding. He is Les’s Legacy sibling also out of Morning with Ivan. He should be ready to run over the Flat in the spring as a three-year old.

Bred locally ‘Jimmy’ will be named shortly by the syndicate ‘Naughty But Nice and Ours for Life’.

Jimmy replaces Naughty George who we sadly lost due to an infection. ‘Jimmy’ has been broken in at Girsonfield and is proceeding to his Flat career.

He had a great start for us by winning a Maiden 2.4 hurdle by 3.5 lengths for our New partnership The Rede Valley Reivers at Market Rasen. He runs alongside Beaumesnil. 

Johnny Dogs started life in Irish Point to Points; running 7 times and winning one after a chequered start!

He is now having a break and running very soon.

Kingston Hill x High Rock Lady

Bought from Ireland this gelding started his career running in bumpers and has now progressed to hurdles. He is a big horse who will take time to mature and is heading to a chasing career.

Les's Legacy

Kutub x Morning With Ivan

2017 | Gelding

Les’s Legacy is a legacy left by the late Les Richards.

Les’s Legacy came 2nd at Newcastle before The Tweed Valley Racing Club bought him just in time to see his first win at Hexham in May by 2 ¾ lengths.

He has never been out of the prize money with three wins and six places including the series final of the BetVictor Go North Handicap Hurdle.

An Irish point-to-point winning mare which will be coming straight into work.

Both her siblings, Bushmans Pass and Advantage Point, have won bumpers. Advantage Point also won over hurdles, was 4th in a listed race and was rated 129 over hurdles and 128 over fences.

A big gelding with two winning brothers including ‘No but I Will’ rated 116 and ‘Rock on Tommy’. Bought at the Goffs May sale he needed more time to fill out and mature so he has had a break and has just been 3rd on his debut in a bumper at Hexham! He will now proceed to a hurdling career and eventually Chasing.

Royal Prospect is a winner of eight races and has been placed 11 times. We are delighted to welcome him to our yard following the retirement of his long time trainer Lawrence Mulanney. Best of luck to Lawrence in his new career and thanks to Shaun for sending us his horse.

Mizzou x Lake Crescent

Straight from his breeder in Ireland, Samwise made a very good account of himself by coming 4th in his first bumper at Catterick in November. He was beaten by 1/2 length by a horse bought for £89,000. He did not run so well at Wetherby but put in a great effort to be 3rd at Carlisle

One bumper left to go before he starts his hurdling career.

Leading Light x Tango Lady

The latest addition to the yard – Theatre Light will run for the Race4Fun Syndicate. She has had four starts in Irish Point-to-Points – coming 2nd and then winning in her last start. Theatre Light will run in January.

This Is Bob

Imperial Monarch x Annie Grit

2018 | Gelding

‘Bob’ has arrived on the yard after a short spell in Ireland with Gavin Cromwell. He needed some time but is proving very promising so far. His sibling, Come on Gruff, has won a bumper and two hurdle races over 2.4m including at Ludlow in March and is now rated 115. 

‘Bob’ has begun his career over hurdles.

Sholokhov x Bilboa

New to the yard Velasco is a lovely gelding who has always been the bridesmaid and never the bride after winning a point-to-point. He has been placed five times including being second four times.

Velasco has certainly been a work in progress but he finally won his first race at Hexham in spring 2023 and has been place twice this season.

Whatyoudunnow Buddy was bought privately from Micheal Conaghan in Ireland. From his name you can guess he is not straight forward and always in some trouble! He was placed in two of his bumpers and is a very promising horse for the future.
