The Northern Racing Club

The Northern Racing Club your chance to be part of a small, social, horseracing club based in the North East of England.

The Northern Racing Club has a membership of 20 and horse(s) with Susan Corbett. Right now, the club runs Champ Royal – a winner first time out!

The club is primarily seen by its founder members as a social racing club whose membership will include others who will regularly go racing to watch our horses, and people who will enjoy visiting the yard. In short, people who are happy to become one of the ‘Girsonfield Stable family’

The value cost of joining is a one-off payment of £750.00 with a £99 all inclusive monthly fee (covers both training and running costs). Membership will be set for a rolling 12-month period, at the end of the membership period, members will be consulted as to what course of action the Club should best take.

Membership is currently fully subscribed.

Champ Royal

Masterstroke x Sky Royale

2016 | Gelding

A winner in July over hurdles – we bought Champ Royal at the September Goffs sale for the Northern Racing Club. He has two winds out of four runs and looks to be a superstar for the syndicate.

Cleeve Racing Partnership

A free Cleeve Racing annual membership worth £40 per month is included for anyone joining the Northern Racing Club.

Susan has held a licence for just 9 years. To begin, Susan had only 4 horses in training and two owners. On the back of the success she has enjoyed every year she now has almost 30 horses for the season. Susan’s team has already won various awards including the Lycett’s Team Champion award in 2022, Trainer of the Quarter, in 2021 for Trainer Magazine, and four gold accolade awards for Leadership in 2022. So, considering the yard did not exist 9 years ago, it is progressing fast!

There have been no huge purchases, and most of her horses cost little money or were home bred. Indeed the new ‘stud ‘ side of the business has three winning mares which have been put to good stallions, hopefully to breed racehorses, allowing Susan and her owners to compete with bigger trainers, rather than paying inflated sales prices.

Last season, all bar two of her horses brought home prize money for her Owners and Racing Clubs.

Both Susan and Nick will be Syndicate Managers of The Northern Racing Club. These roles will be unpaid and both of them will also be fully paid up members.
