The Yard

Girsonfield was established in 1999 by Susan and Frank Corbett with the ambition of creating an affordable stud farm for the breeding of point-to-pointers. From these origins, Girsonfield has grown from a key Stud in the North East of England to a competitive racing yard. Retaining a family orientated but professional perspective, the team at Girsonfield works toward achieving the full potential of every horse in our care whilst also providing a safe and caring environment. With this in mind, we are fully committed to including and informing our clients during the process of creating a thoroughbred worthy of the sport of kings.

Based in the small village of Otterburn, Northumberland, our premises include 130 acres of grazing, stabling suitable for 50 horses, including 45 licensed racing boxes,  two all-weather gallops and a grass gallop. A small business, our current team consists of six work riders, including stable jockey James Corbett, and a stable groom. As a family buisness we are comitted to bringing our clients into the activites of the yard through regular communication, stable visits, and schooling days. Don't hesitate to contact us if you want to join the growing group of owners, syndicate members, and followers that make up the fabric of Girsonfield.
